Transforming lives and communities | | |
in Appalachia |

Appalachia covers 13 states and is one of the most impoverished regions in the United States. World Vision in Appalachia serves the people of north-central West Virginia. The closing of coal mines in the 1960s left abandoned communities with few resources to economically rebuild. We come alongside these communities working to help themselves. You can help. Make a donation today to World Vision's work in Appalachia.
Neighbors helping neighborsOne of the most valuable assets shared by people in this region is a strong sense of family and community. Much of World Vision's work is carried out through community centers and churches in Brownton, Chestnut Ridge, and Flemington.
