GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (June 3, 2015) — World Vision will deploy its 53-foot mobile warehouse tomorrow morning from its disaster supply warehouse in Grand Prairie to homes in Blanco that have been damaged or destroyed by last week’s deadly flooding in Texas.
Working in partnership with the Texas Baptists Disaster Recovery team, World Vision will provide roofing shingles, insulation, bathtubs and sinks to families rebuilding their homes and repairing flood damage.
“This is one of the overlooked areas. It didn’t receive a lot of disaster funding, but there are still many homes that need repair and rebuilding,” said Phyllis Freeman, World Vision’s World Vision’s director of domestic disaster response.
The Texas Baptists Disaster Recovery team identified 25 uninsured homes that were damaged or destroyed in the Wimberley area in and around Blanco. The supplies will arrive at the Blanco High School football stadium at 1215 4th Street in Blanco.
