BATON ROUGE, La.. (August 19, 2016) — This weekend, World Vision will provide relief supplies to families in south Louisiana who have been affected by this week’s deadly flooding.

Supplies, which include hygiene kits, cleaning supplies, food and clothing will be provided by World Vision and distributed by partner churches in the area at New Home Family Worship Center, at 3000 Tecumseh St. in Baton Rouge.

“It’s an honor to work in partnership with spiritual and community leaders in southern Louisiana,” said Nate Youngblood, World Vision’s director of domestic disaster response. “While these supplies are a start to help families recover, the people who have been affected by this disaster will need support from everyone in their community as they rebuild their homes and their lives.”

The distribution will be led by Bishop Samuel Blakes, pastor of New Home Family Worship Center. He can be reached at 225-357-1300.

At least 13 people have died and some 40,000 homes have been damaged by flooding in the region this week.
