Bring scripture to life with Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 25
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in… ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”
– Matthew 25: 35-40 (NIV)

What is the Matthew 25 Challenge?
The Matthew 25 Challenge is a week-long text message experience for churches. For seven days, families and individuals in your congregation will step out of their comfort zones through a daily sacrificial challenge, bringing to life Jesus’ call in Matthew 25. During the week, participants receive text messages with a daily challenge, stories of children around the world, and family discussion and prayer points.
What are some of the daily challenges?
Daily challenges help open people’s eyes to the realities that many children and communities around the world face. Challenges are family-friendly and include activities like giving up your bed and sleeping on the floor like many refugees do around the world, skipping a meal like hungry children do every day, and only drinking water for one day as you learn about the global water crisis.
How does the Matthew 25 Challenge Work?
Launch Weekend
Use 7-10 minutes at the start or end of the service to invite your church to join the Matthew 25 Challenge. Share your heart, play this video, and invite everyone to take out their phones and text to join the challenge.
One Passage for One Week
For one week, your congregation will focus on a passage from Matthew 25. Each day, they’ll receive text messages with their daily challenge, stories of children around the world, and family prayer and discussion points.
Celebration Weekend
After your church has completed the week-long challenge, celebrate together and call your congregation to continue their discipleship journey by sponsoring a child.
