Unique New Partnership Merges Mobile Gaming and Charity

The Aethelight Bible
Scarlet City Studios will donate a minimum of 10 percent of the retail price from all sales of the Tyndale Aetherlight Bible to support World Vision’s work throughout the U.S. and the world.

FEDERAL WAY, WA (May 17, 2016)  The first Bible designed for young gamers will not only encourage youth to engage in Scripture, but also will help children in need throughout the world.

Themed around the new action-adventure computer game The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance, “The Aetherlight Bible” will be launched this summer by Tyndale House Publishers.

Scarlet City Studios, makers of the The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance game, will donate a minimum of 10 percent of the retail price from all sales of the Tyndale Aetherlight Bible to support World Vision’s work throughout the U.S. and the world.

“I am proud to be associated with The Aetherlight project, which is designed to engage tweens in the Bible in a new and innovative way,” said Karen Sendelback, senior director of partner engagement at World Vision.

The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance is the first digital engagement experience of its kind. The game aims to help young people see their story in the context of God’s story via a world grounded in the biblical narrative. The new Aetherlight companion Bible will help families build upon the bridge between the game’s allegory and the words of Scripture.

“In a game where players are drawn into a resistance against a usurper and his oppressive forces, there is nothing better than partnering with someone who allows this to happen in ‘the real world,’” adds Scarlet City Worldbuilder Tim Cleary. “Through this partnership with World Vision, players are able to be part of real world good! Join the Resistance!”

The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance, which released May 5, is available for PC, Mac, iOS and Android, and can be downloaded at: www.theaetherlight.com.
