Study
Clario is a contract research organization that specializes in providing clinical services and customizable medical devices to biopharmaceutical and healthcare organizations.
In 2021, Clario was looking for a socially and environmentally conscious way to repurpose electrocardiogram (ECG) machines that had been used in clinical trials.
Due to the increase in cardiac issues resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, World Vision health programs in developing countries had a great need for ECGs and other medical equipment.
Clario worked with World Vision’s Corporate Engagement Team to facilitate the donation, and the devices were distributed to the areas of greatest need.
Since then, Clario has made many additional donations, including cell phones and tablets. World Vision distributes these devices to literacy and education partners working with high-need schools and children living in poverty in the U.S.
Urban Strategies is one such partner. They use the donated tablets in their work with children at the U.S./Mexico border. These tablets allow the children to continue studying and learning while living in a very difficult situation.
