Water devotional
The next time you go for a walk as a family, imagine having to walk an average of 3.7 miles (6 kilometers) every day to collect water for daily use. That’s what many women and children in developing countries have to do. It takes hours of time that could be spent on school and work. Not having access to clean water keeps people in poverty. World Vision follows Jesus in serving the poor, partnering with kids and families to help them break free from poverty and experience fullness of life. Clean water can open this door! Psalm 107:35 says, “He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs.”
We participate in God’s kingdom work when we help people get lasting access to clean water. It is a true privilege to reflect God’s love to children and families in this way. The power of life-giving water can’t be overstated. Remember to thank God today for allowing you to serve Him by answering this most basic need in people’s lives.
