Why World Vision is in Iraq
There are more than 3.2 million IDPs in Iraq, which is a fragile state, many of whom fled into Kurdistan after grueling journeys. Some were forced to move several times to avoid being caught up in the violence that has forced them to flee their homes. Christians and other minority groups have been particularly affected by the crisis.
We never give up on people
Millions of people have been forced to flee their homes due to violence: Families escaping fighting in Iraq and Syria, caught in the conflict in South Sudan, and trapped in other dangerous situations. More than half of these refugees and displaced people are children. You can help provide critical essentials like food, shelter, and safe places for children to play and learn.
