Erik Johnson
Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer
Erik joined World Vision because he felt a distinct calling on his life to help eliminate extreme poverty for children around the world. He is passionate about using his experience as a team builder to work alongside other leaders and teams to accomplish this work. He strongly aligns with the World Vision core value of We are stewards and champions the belief that our resources are not our own: Our donors’ gifts are a sacred trust, and we are charged by God to use them in ways that maximize help for the poor.
Throughout his 30-year career, Erik has demonstrated leadership in global financial operations, strategic planning, and business transformation. Prior to joining World Vision, he served as CFO for Mad Engine, a licensed apparel company with brand partnerships including Disney, Marvel Studios, and Star Wars. At Mad Engine he strengthened the finance functions and played a pivotal role in carrying out the company’s strategic plan. Before that he was CFO, Americas, for Boardriders, a sports apparel company, and vice president of global finance at sport and lifestyle brand Oakley.
Erik holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Puget Sound and an MBA from Pepperdine University. He serves on the boards of Journeys Counseling Ministry and EQUIP (formerly Kingdom Story Ministries).
I joined World Vision because of a distinct calling from God to make an impact in the lives of children and families living in poverty. I believe the time is now to use my gifts to encourage and build, working shoulder to shoulder with staff, donors, and communities to address needs and develop strong relationships and partnerships. Most importantly I strive to be worthy of the trust placed in me to help steward our resources well, both now and into the future.
