Burundi Accelerated Innovation Delivery Initiative (AID-I) Project Summary

Accelerated Innovation Delivery Initiative (AID-I) seeks to sustainably improve productivity and increase production in the maize, beans, rice, sweet potatoes, milk, and poultry value chains by improving key on-farm activities including using biofortification technology, tuber conservation techniques, and milk production strategies. AID-I also invests in technology and innovation that seeks to enable farmers to process and package maize, beans, rice, sweet potatoes, milk, and poultry and to access high-value markets. The project targets 166,080 households and is funded by USAID, through the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA).
