Since 2012, the JEOP program has consistently been recognized for its excellence in distributing food assistance to an average of 1.6 million program participants each year. During that time, the JEOP piloted and scaled up the use of cash transfers to address food needs, enabling households to purchase food and ensuring the highest quality of food assistance.
Given the grand bargain recognition that cash transfers offer (choice, flexibility, dignity and empowerment) and the desire for the Government of Ethiopia and USAID to see their increased integration, the JEOP 2.0-IDA program focuses on providing cash transfer support to targeted participants.
The JEOP consortium implements in Amhara, Oromia, Southern Nations, Tigray Region, and Diwa Dawa Administration, in 90 woredas.
