This capacity statement summarizes World Vision’s water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programming in Indonesia, highlighting four priority intervention areas: water supply and quality; sanitation and hygiene; governance and finance; and water security and resilience. We began working in Indonesia in 1998, starting with humanitarian assistance during an emergency response, and have become one of the largest child-focused nongovernmental organizations in the country. World Vision Indonesia currently operates in 14 provinces and 52 districts, implementing its new strategy (2021-2025) to improve the well-being of 7.5 million of the most vulnerable children in the country by reducing the root causes of vulnerability. World Vision’s WASH program in Indonesia started in 2008 and is integrated within the Nutrition and Health sector, emphasizing the reduction of stunting and waterborne disease transmission.
