World Vision’s work in Zimbabwe started in 1973, facilitating development and humanitarian programs and assistance to children and communities. Since then, World Vision has engaged in WASH activities in a variety of settings including households, communities, schools, healthcare facilities (HCFs), remote rural settings, urban areas, and during emergencies.
Today, World Vision Zimbabwe operates in 33 Area Programs (long-term community projects spanning up to 15 years) located in marginalized areas of the country, where the most vulnerable populations live. This long-term presence in these marginalized parts of the country make World Vision an ideal partner for delivering programs, in partnership with government agencies, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), faith-based organizations, and communities. World Vision Zambia’s national strategic goal for the period 2021 to 2025 is to contribute to the sustained well-being of 2.5 million children, especially the most vulnerable.
