CAR is a malaria-endemic country where transmission is perennial. Children under 5 and
pregnant women are the most affected populations. The mission of the fight against malaria
in CAR is to guarantee universal access to control, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment
and to make surveillance a basic intervention, consolidating efforts towards elimination by
reducing malaria-related morbidity and mortality.
With the funding from the Global Fund, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health,
World Vision has been implementing activities in CAR aimed at reducing malaria-related
morbidity and mortality among the general population since 2018. World Vision supports
financial management, procurement, supply chain management, and strengthening of
community health systems and strategies, including the fight against COVID-19.
