The Guatemala Anti-Trafficking in Persons Project (GATIP) worked to improve the quality of victim-centered trafficking investigations by strengthening public institution coordination and supporting survivor-informed, victim-centered law enforcement, operations, and criminal justice proceedings. The project also promoted analysis, learning, and coordination of emerging Guatemala trafficking in persons trends. World Vision partnered with Asociación La Alianza (ALA), a leading local non-governmental organization, to strengthen victim identification and the provision of comprehensive services. ALA operates two shelters in Guatemala, where adolescent females and children can access comprehensive support services that include lodging, psychosocial support, legal services, technical training, and economic support.
