The Resilient Arid Lands Partnership for Integrated Development plus (RAPID+) is a five-year program convened and led by the Millennium Water Alliance (MWA). The program’s primary funding is from the Swiss Agency for Development and Corporation (SDC). It also has contributions and investment funds from private sector actors, four facilitating partners (CARE Kenya, Catholic Relief Services, Food for the Hungry and World Vision), and five participating county governments. RAPID+ aims to improve access to water and rangeland services for more than 200,000 people in Garissa, Isiolo, Marsabit, Turkana, and Wajir counties. RAPID+ activities are also being implemented using gender transformative and Market Systems Development (MSD) approaches. These two aspects are expected to embed sustainability and inclusivity in the program.
