McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Project Summary

The overall objective of the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition program is to reduce hunger and improve literacy and primary education, especially for girls. One of the key focus areas is improving children’s health and learning capacity before they enter school through preventative health and nutrition programs for pregnant and nursing women, infants, and preschoolers. To that end, World Vision has partnered with Nascent Solutions to target 81 primary schools and 25 preschools/early childhood centers from six districts of Lilongwe, Kasungu, and Ntcheu in the Central region and Thyolo, Mulanje, and Chiradzulu in the Southern region of Malawi.
