The goal of this project is to contribute to the improved literacy of 50,000 lower primary school children by September 2023. The goal will be achieved through the implementation
of a holistic model that will work with the communities and teachers on activities aimed at enhancing the reading levels of students. This model supports the national curriculum by
providing a structured teacher package of strategies to improve reading outcomes.
Project activities will be supported by an instant-feedback digital monitoring and coaching platform, Measuring Evidence of Quality Achieved (MEQA). Training on MEQA will be done to enhance coaching support to teachers and ensure fidelity of implementation across teaching and learning in classrooms and reading camps. This will be done as a pilot in 92 schools and 600 reading camps, allowing World Vision to compare results of MEQA catchment areas at baseline and end line to provide evidence on improved literacy.
